Gurgaon E-Way Underpass Opens

Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri mocked the working style of Delhi Government on Thursday while suggesting that one project of the PWD deserves to qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records for slowest pace of construction, in an obvious reference to the ongoing construction of the RTR flyover in South Delhi.

Addressing a public function after opening the Mahipalupr underpass across the Delhi –Gurgaon Expressway, Purl aid, the project tI am referring to is located closed to my earlier residence. The work has been going for years. The annual progress of work could be construction of about 400-450 yards. It’s perfect one to find place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Drawing a parallel, the minister said the Mahipalpur said the Mahipalpur underpass project started by his housing and urban affairs ministry was completed in less than 400 days and its construction wing, CPWD has saved Rs.26 crore .The underpass project which provides direct connectivity from Vasnankunj to Aerocity , will make the drive seamless and will also help reduce the traffic jam on the road passing through Mahipualpur village. This road will benefit about 28000 commuters daily and will also lead to saving of about 14000 mn hours daily.

Puri also took a swipe at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for only assuring him to take the necessary steps, but never atoning on them; CM is a good friend of mine. He met me several times after I because me minister . He used to tell me he would clear the proposals “next week’ when i took up issues relating to DMRC phase IV and the RRTS projects with him and he took more than 18month to act on them. AAP government approved the DMRC phase IV project with some conditions. I commit to you that we will do this project very soon irrespective of their stand the minister said.

Barely days before the poll dates are announced, NHAI will lay the foundation stone for the Delhi Mumbai expressway . Union minister Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation stone for a 59 km six lane access controlled highway stretch from Ring Road DND Junction to interchange of Delhi –Mumbai Expressway at Western Peripheral Expressway , on Friday.

Source said the foundation stone for the Haryana –Varodra stretch would be laid next week.

While the NHAI has invited bids for the 59km stretch between Ring Road and WPE pass in through Kalindia bypass and Faridabad-Ballabhgarh by pass, the highways authority has received bids for the other section of the expressway .

TOI on August 20 had first reported that the Delhi –Mumbai Expressway project will come into the heart of the national capital . The project in Cloudes building the Kalindi kunj by pass in Delhi, revamp of the Faridabad bypass and a Greenfield stretch that will connect the Delhi –Agra highway with WPE.

The new flyover next to Dhaula kuan metro station si expected to smoothen traffic flow on the stretch by eliminating traffic lights at the Cariappa Raod NH-8 T-Point , but experts said congestion is likely to increase on Sardar Patel Marg at Dhaula kuan.

This spot has been experiencing snarls during the day and bigger ones at peak hours. While pushing for the traffic improvement paln on Dhaula kuan airport road Gadkari had proposed to do away with the traffic lights on SP Marg till the Gyarah Murti T-Point ,But this could not materialise as this falls under the NDMC.
